
Esme Wood
Esmé is an independent occupational therapist, academic researcher, and experienced university lecturer. She is a clinical specialist in dementia care with a range of experience working in and leading dementia services across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester. As a teaching fellow with the Higher Education Academy, Esmé also has considerable teaching experience as a senior academic working at several universities in the UK. With experience in developing, designing, delivering and evaluating courses at BSc, MSc and professional CPD level, Esmé has a particular interest in blended learning and online pedagogy. Esmé has clinical expertise in the design, assessment and provision of assistive technology particularly for the older population, and is experienced and passionate in the provision of horticulture and nature based therapies.
Esmé is a member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists and has been involved in multiple RCOT specialist sections including ‘Older People’ and ‘Independent Practice’.
