Dearbhla Shannon

Dearbhla qualified in 2013 from Cardiff University and has worked in NHS health care settings and also within the medico-legal area in providing expert witness assessment and reports. Working with a variety of client groups, Dearbhla is experienced in fatigue management and undertaking both physical and cognitive rehabilitation. An extensive part of her clinical practice has been in stroke and progressive neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis and dementia. Also working with clients with amputations, trauma & orthopaedic conditions and in falls prevention services.

Dearbhla has extensive experience working with a rehabilitative approach for clients with neurological injuries and completing assessment for often complex discharges. She is passionate about ensuring appropriate interventions are created to improve occupational performance and engagement for clients to promote a sense of well-being. Dearbhla maintains a high level of professional development reflecting on current practices to enable her to provide a high quality service and she regularly attends conferences and provides educational talks.
