
Alison Hipkiss
A highly motivated and professional occupational therapist with over 17 years of experience, Alison has extensive experience of working with adults with a wide range of complex needs following brain injury to maximise their independence and quality of life. Alison has undertaken a variety of roles within neurological services such as working in inpatient rehabilitation units, day centres, wheelchair services, and stroke and neurology community services both within the statutory and private sector. Experienced in administrating and analysing standardised cognitive assessments. In addition, she was also an occupational therapy lecturer at London South Bank University, worked in a regional assistive and rehabilitation technology service, and is experienced working with augmentative and alternative communication devices.
Areas of specialist clinical interest include cognitive rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, upper limb assessment and treatment, and fatigue management. Alison is experienced and skilled in creating individualised treatment plans to help manage fatigue following brain injury and at providing high quality vocational rehabilitation, with individuals and their employers in a variety of industries.
